Abstract  
The potential of renewable energy needs to be explored. Renewable energy is energy that comes from natural and unnatural forms available, including wind energy, biomass, solar heat and lost heat generated by various human activities. Solar energy is a form of available and clean renewable energy that is used as an alternative to fossil fuels for energy production. The most difficult, however, is the maximum recovery of the sun's thermal energy. This study focuses on energy production with the parabolic depression sensor (PTC). This revision provides a geometric analysis that includes the thermal approach of the PTC model, the heat transfer and the method of improving the thermal efficiency of the PTC receiver. Identify performance analysis, thermal efficiency, solar-powered PTC applications and development history. PTC applications include desalination processes, air heating systems, power plants, refrigeration and industrial heating. Key word: parabolic depression sensor, heating system.
